I n the chapter 3, M. Myriel had to go around places for pastoral visits. He went to Senez, and people would laugh at him for ridding donkeys. So I'm guessing he likes ridding donkeys.
In the first chapter starts by introducing us to Monseigneur Charles-Francois-Bienvenu Myriel, Bishop of Dine. In this chapter it tell us a little about him it says that he got marry at a young age. That sadly his wife died. And that after that he became a priest.
In chapter 9, I noticed that it was mainly about how the bishop sister always supports him despite the danger. His sister at first didn't like like the idea of him just going freely but then she got used to it. Something that popped out to me was that both women depend on the bishop because normally women don't want to depend on someone.
